Muhammad Alpian Ramli is a seasoned Indonesian advocate with over a decade of legal experience as both a lawyer and an in-house counsel. His expertise spans mergers and acquisitions (M&A), banking & finance, capital markets, and data privacy.

Prior to joining Walalangi & Partners, he had worked at one of the Indonesia’s largest law firms and a leading e-commerce company, where he managed complex M&A and fundraising transactions, project finance, capital market transactions, and general corporate matters.

In addition to being a licensed Indonesian advocate, he is also a Certified Legal Auditor (CLA) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), reflecting his commitment to excellence and specialization in emerging legal fields.

Muhammad Alpian Ramli has contributed to several of Indonesia’s renowned transactions as follows:

  • Advising one of the biggest tier 1 telecommunication service companies on the regulatory framework of its proposed development and provision of in car wi-fi services to Indonesian vehicle owners (as end-users), focusing on legal analysis for its (i) device authentication, spectrum management, value-added services and over-the-top (OTT) services, (ii) processing vehicle owners’ personal data, and (iii) e-SIM’s remote profiling to be embedded into the in car wi-fi devices.
  • Assisting Tokopedia on the Initial Public Offering (IPO) transaction of PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia, Tbk (GoTo) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2022, raising approximately IDR 15.8 trillion (USD 1.1 billion).
  • Assisting Laku6 in its acquisition by Carousell group in 2022.
  • Counsel to one of the largest Korean financial institutions on the acquisition of an Indonesian financing company.
  • Counsel to an Indonesian state-owned company on a public transportation infrastructure project.
  • Counsel to an Indonesian bank on the Right Issue listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
  • Counsel to an Indonesian coal mining company with the issuance of Senior Notes on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX).
  • Counsel to a South Korean state-owned bank in the acquisition of an Indonesian financing company.
  • Counsel to an Indonesian state-owned company in Bonds issuance listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
