Ms. Michelle Joice Purba graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada. During her studies she actively participated in various student organizations and distinguished herself in both national and international legal competitions. Notably, she represented Indonesia at the 2nd Permanent Court of Arbitration Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition Pre-Moot in Singapore, where she achieved first place.
Prior to joining Walalangi & Partners, she has had experience working at a first-tier UK- and US-affiliated law firm.

- Advising one of the biggest tier 1 telecommunication service companies on the regulatory framework of its proposed development and provision of in car wi-fi services to Indonesian vehicle owners (as end-users), focusing on legal analysis for its (i) device authentication, spectrum management, value-added services and over-the-top (OTT) services, (ii) processing vehicle owners’ personal data, and (iii) e-SIM’s remote profiling to be embedded into the in car wi-fi devices.
- Advising a Swedish-headquartered global leader in cooling technology on its acquisition of 100% shares of an Indonesian retailer.
- Counsel to a leading Japanese multinational corporation in automotive and motorcycle manufacturing in the strategic divestment of its Indonesian subsidiary.
