Mr. Andhika Indrapraja is a bright young lawyer, with almost a decade of experience assisting clients in various Real Estate transactions, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) as well as general corporate matters, with a particular focus on real property, construction, and personal data. He is listed as one of Rising Stars Indonesia 2023 by Asian Legal Business.

Andhika Indrapraja has been assisting various foreign companies in their complex investment structures and acquisitions, project finance, real property projects as well as advising numbers of prestigious international real property companies, industrial and construction companies.

In addition to advising clients in their major strategic investments, Andhika Indrapraja has been successfully assisting and advising clients in the following prestigious deals:

  • Counsel to one of the largest Japanese banks in its USD200 million acquisition of  an e-commerce and digital financing services businesses throughout Southeast Asia, which would allow the client to further contribute and fulfil various financial needs to customers in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries as well as leveraging its group’s growth in financial services sector.
  • Counsel to Mitbana Pte Ltd, a joint venture company of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Surbana Jurong (SJ), in strategic partnership to develop 51 hectares township and transit-oriented development (TOD) in Tangerang, Greater Jakarta, Indonesia, that will be developed into a township made up of gated cluster landed homes, retail and F&B outlets, feature apartments, retail and commercial spaces integrated with a bus interchange and future rail station.
  • Counsel to Mitsui & Co., Ltd and Penske Truck Leasing, the largest commercial vehicle leasing company in North America, in the establishment of their  truck operating lease business in Indonesia together with CSM Corporatama, a subsidiary of Indomobil under the major Indonesian conglomerate Salim Group. Through this project, the parties plan contribute to the Indonesian economy by providing well-maintained trucks to tackle issues in freight transportation which would reduce road infrastructure damages and traffic accidents.
  • Counsel to one of the largest Japanese trading companies in its pilot smart city project in a Greater Jakarta Area, focusing on legal requirements for online platform, personal data  processing and data transfer.
  • Counsel to Mitsubishi Corporation and Sinar Mas Land on the inauguration of the PoC of Indonesia’s first autonomous electric vehicle at Q-Big BSD City, using first intelligent transportation system of French-made shuttle bus Navya Arma. The 15-passenger self-driving electric vehicle has a battery capacity of 33 kWh and is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and Light Radar (LIDAR) sensor. This goes in parallel with the vision of G20, i.e., to go towards smart green cities, more low-carbon mobility, and less traffic congestion.
  • Counsel to Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and its Indonesian subsidiary PT Diamond Development Indonesia (DDI) in their new urban integrated township project with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of IDR 9 trillion (approx. USD 630 million) in SHILA at Sawangan, a 102-hectare township in Depok, West Java, Indonesia.
  • Counsel to Mitbana Pte Ltd, a joint venture company of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Surbana Jurong (SJ), in the biggest (and first of its kind)  advance smart and sustainable Transit-Oriented Developments (TODs) in BSD City, South Tangerang, Greater Jakarta, where Mitbana forms a significant partnership with leading Indonesian property developer Sinar Mas Land.  Building on BSD City’s track record, the Project is to transform hundreds of hectares of greenfield land into TODs comprising residential units, commercial properties, living amenities, green-park offices, digital hubs, a convention centre, a hospital, schools, railways and public transport nodes, which enlarges BSD City’s existing development footprint and expand on its current population of 200,000 residents.
  • Counsel to a leading Singapore real estate company in their more than 300 hectares new greenfield township mixed-use development project in Tangerang Regency, with one of most reputable Indonesian real estate group of companies.
  • Assisting an Indonesian subsidiary of one of the biggest trading companies in preparing a turnkey construction contract to implement its plan to build a premise upon an approximately 2,400 sqm land located in the most prestigious area of Central Jakarta, with contract value of more than 70 billion Rupiah, including advising and structuring to construction to mitigate potential risks and issues in general construction and intellectual property matters.
  • Counsel to Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) in its real property and urban development in a prestigious South Jakarta area Fatmawati with a leading Indonesian property developer, with the total project area of 3,300 m2, where the Project includes expansion of mixed-uses properties, including apartment and commercial premise and involves complex spatial allocation conversion as well as land sales and purchase.
  • Advising a leading Japanese telecommunication and a Japanese Fortune Global 500 company on various Indonesian law’s regulatory framework related to its proposed investment in various digital payment and finance sectors in Indonesia, including among others, mobile payment and Q&R code based payment services, online loyalty point related services, digital banking and financing, small loan online services, digital consumer finance (including buy now pay later (BNPL) arrangement), and digital insurance.
  • Advising an emerging Indonesian marketplace platform start-up that facilitates small-medium size enterprises in selling their products online and help them with bookkeeping – in relation to (i) analysis of data collection and storage, payment initiation, administration and verification of source of fund, e-money issuance, (ii) structuring its existing business activities and key licensing requirements, (iii) payment services provider (PSP) license, scope of activities, shareholding and voting rights of foreign shareholders and capitalization and (iv) analysis on its share acquisitions plan of PSP companies.
  • Advising one of the most rapid growing technology and game companies based in the US, with approximately 36.2 million daily users, on various Indonesian regulatory matters to include gaming regulations, gaming applications rating, registration requirements, content requirements and restrictions as well as personal data protection.
  • Advising a leading Japanese video game developer and publisher listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (CCOEF) with headquarter in Osaka, on Indonesian regulatory matters relating to progressive business model development plan, including online games offerings, digital currency and payments, loot box features, business and games rating registration requirements, consumer protection, and personal data privacy rules.
  • Advising a Japanese leading logistics company in the restructuring of its numerous Indonesian logistic subsidiaries engage in freight forwarding services, bonded logistic center and storage and other storage business. The transaction involves various and complex corporate actions including merger and transfer of business between the group companies and compliance of various regulatory requirements.

Seminars and Publications:

  • Mr. Andhika Indrapraja was the keynote speaker on “Personal Data Protection in Indonesia” exclusive seminar for numerous Astra group companies, where they discussed and analysed various topics related to personal data protection issues, including basis for personal data processing, inter-company’s personal data sharing, offshore-transfer, and appointment of data protection officer. This enlightening seminar was designed to navigate the audience to understand the general rule of personal data protection in Indonesia and bridging them to be ready for company’s compliant when the Personal Data Protection Act will be fully implemented on October 17, 2024.
  • Mr. Andhika Indrapraja is one of the key speakers on “Import Policies” at Mitsubishi Corporation exclusive in-house seminar. This is to navigate the audience to understand the import licenses rules and bridging the ambiguities under the regulations by raising both practical and theoretical questions relating to import activities, including on development of plastic raw materials and Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG), expansion of the scope of transferable imported goods by API-P holders, changes in import requirements for certain products, expansion of the scope of import of used goods, and relaxation of import requirements for non-restricted goods for complementary use, market testing, or aftersales service by API-P holders.

The event provided the attendees with a chance to directly discuss practical questions and the actual issues of their day-to-day import activities with the regulator.
